PROJECT RUNWAY: PAST, PRESENT & FUTURE

PAST: I am not sure how everyone else feels, but I have to say that this is my least favorite cast of fashionistas of the series, which got me thinking fondly about the past 2 editions. I guess it's an even toss-up between the two if I had to choose a favorite cast. Austin Scarlett was terrific to watch, as was winner Jay. And Wendy Pepper was a GREAT villain. Then Season 2 delivered a great line-up of gay talent: Daniel V, Nick, Where's Andre, and villain Santino. Maybe this was the best? Well, it doesnt matter because I enjoyed watching both casts. However, this season's line-up is chock full of whiners, cheaters and annoyers. I don't even think I have a clear favorite I am rooting for. PRESENT: So, just who AM I rooting for? Laura makes a nice bitch, but I am not sure I want to see her rewarded. I kinda like Angela, but no one else seems to. Robert is just a lazy gay, in my opinion. Vincent is just out and out psycho. And Jeffrey can't get through a single episode without wishing someone would die. FUTURE: So who would I like to see be the final 3? KAYEN, MICHAEL and ULI. Michael seems to have a strong inner self and, to my knowledge, hasnt bad-mouthed anyone else. Uli hasn't either, but I don't think she has the talent to win the show. Kayne has the talent, but at times can be borderline bratty. So, who would I like to win this thing? After a close toss, I am going to root for Kayne, though I would be just as happy to see Michael win it.

By the way...

Does anyone know what Dan Ackroyd has been up to these days?

I'm Collecting Loads...

...of DVDs! Here are the DVDs coming out in the next couple of months that I will be collecting: Veronica Mars Season 2 (Aug 22), Desperate Housewives Season 2, Arrested Development Season 3, Will & Grace Season 5, Ellen Season 4 (all August 29), Supernatural Season 1 and Lost Season 2 (Sept 5), Threes Company Season 8 (Oct 10) and Facts Of Life Season 3 (October 24)

Is AUGUST the LEAST exciting month in entertainment?

Think about it: all of the BIG summer movies have premiered (MAY, JUNE and JULY being the big months), leaving wannabe's (SNAKES ON A PLAIN), leftovers (PULSE and ZOOM) and indies (LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE) to come out. And on television, all of the promising summer shows have already aired. And the onslaught of the fall TV season doesnt truly get underway until the third week in September (except for Fox, but they don't really count...just kidding). So that leaves August as being a pretty boring month indeed. So let me take this time to recap what Summer TV 2006 was like: My favorite returning shows were ENTOURAGE and PROJECT RUNWAY 3. My new guilty pleasures were HGTV DESIGN STAR and EUREKA. My HIT-TO-MISS show was KYLE XY (I lost interest after the third episode). My I-just-don't-get-why-it's-a-hit show is AMERICAS GOT TALENT. And my HATED IT show is WORK OUT. Along the way, other shows like HEX, LOVESPRING INTERNATIONAL, HELL'S KITCHEN, SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE, MAN BITES DOG, TREASURE HUNTERS, LAST COMIC STANDING 4, BIG BROTHER: ALL STARS, ROCK STAR: SUPERNOVA all premiered, but I didnt watch them enough to review them. But the smelliest shows of the summer HAD to be: THE ONE, ONE OCEAN DRIVE and TUESDAY NIGHT BOOK CLUB.

SHREK 3...and..and...and.... ;-)

I don't know about anyone else but the films released for summer 2006 made it among the worst summers overall for me. Not a single film reached out and grabbed me. To be fair, here are the summer movies I saw: MISSION IMPASSIBLE 3, THE DUH VINCI CODE, POSEIDUMB, X-MEN: THE WORST STAND, and the 2.5 hour commercial for PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN 3. I missed out on SUPERMAN RETURNS, CARS, CLICK, THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA and THE BREAK-UP, but I doubt any of them (save for PRADA) would have done much to save the disastrous feel I have for SU'06. So that got me thinking ahead to NEXT summer, which should get my juices flowing when HARRY POTTER & THE ORDER OF THE PHOENIX, SPIDER-MAN 3, PIRATES 3 and SHREK 3, among others, step up to the plate.

Something I Need To Get Off My Chest....

Every so often I like to mix things up and talk politics. And the thought just occurred to me (following the near-disastrous planned-airline catastrophe), and that thought was this: "Didn't the world seem to be a much calmer, less threatening place to be before the newest Bush took office?"

OOOPS!...I DID leave the kitchen sink running...

I'm back from a nice little vacation of sorts. After all the work put into making and then promoting STORM SURGE, I needed a little r and r from porn work, blog work, emails, etc. I love doing all of those things, and its because of me little breaks from it all that I continue to love doing all those things - otherwise it would get to be too much for me and I would go insane in the membrane. To those who frequent my blog on a daily basis, my apologies.
